To download your digital voter card, also known as an e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card), you can use one of the official platforms provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Key Information Before You Start
Official Portals: The main platforms are the Voters' Services Portal and the Voter Helpline App.
e-EPIC is a PDF: The downloaded voter card is a secure PDF document.
Mobile Number is Key: Your mobile number must be registered in the electoral roll to download your e-EPIC directly. If it isn't, you will need to complete an e-KYC process first.
Step-by-Step Download Process
1. Create an Account / Log In
Go to the official Voters' Services Portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or open the Voter Helpline App.
If you are a new user, click on "Login/Register" and create an account using your mobile number. You'll need to verify your number with an OTP.
If you are an existing user, log in with your registered mobile number and password.
2. Navigate to the Download Section
Once logged in, look for the "Download e-EPIC" or "E-EPIC Download" option on the dashboard.
3. Enter Your Details
You will be asked to provide either your EPIC number or your Form Reference number (if you have recently registered).
If you don't know your EPIC number, you can search for your name in the Electoral Roll on the portal or app to find it.
4. Verification
An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered in the electoral roll. Enter the OTP to verify your request.
5. e-KYC (If required)
If your mobile number is not registered, or if the number is linked to multiple family members, you will be prompted to complete an e-KYC.
This process involves a "face liveness verification" where you must capture a live photo of yourself using a webcam or mobile camera. The system will then compare it with the photo in the electoral database.
6. Download Your e-EPIC
Once the verification is successful (either via OTP or e-KYC), you will be able to click the "Download" button to save the e-EPIC as a PDF file.
Important Points
Toll-Free Helpline: For any issues, you can call the ECI toll-free helpline number 1950.
Offline Option: If you face issues with the online process, you can visit the Electoral Registration Office (ERO) in your area with a photo ID to update your mobile number or seek assistance.
